GoTag Meet — Privacy Policy

GoTag Meet ("the app") is the video meetings and online lessons app of the GoTag school platform, operated by GoTag ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app processes and why.

Accounts

Signing in uses your existing GoTag school account (name, username, school). We do not create separate accounts for GoTag Meet, and the app has no self-service sign-up. Guests can join public meetings with just a display name they choose; no account is created for guests.

Data we process

• Identity: your name and GoTag user ID, shown to other participants in meetings you join.
• Audio & video: your camera, microphone and — when you start it — your screen are transmitted live to other meeting participants. Nothing is captured unless you turn it on, and each has a clear indicator.
• Recordings: a meeting host may record a meeting. Recordings (audio, video, shared screens and the whiteboard) are stored on our servers and are available to the host, and to lesson participants only when the host explicitly shares them.
• Chat & whiteboard: messages, shared files and whiteboard content are stored with the meeting so participants can review them later.
• Technical data: connection metadata (join/leave times, device type, IP address) used to run the service, keep it secure and compute attendance for school lessons.

What we don't do

• No advertising, no sale of personal data, no tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
• No access to your camera, microphone or screen outside a meeting you joined and controls you switched on.

Sharing

Meeting media is routed through our real-time infrastructure and stored on cloud storage providers acting as our processors. Data is otherwise shared only within your school's GoTag workspace (e.g. a teacher sharing a lesson recording with the class) and never with unrelated third parties.

Retention & deletion

Recordings, chat and whiteboard content are retained while the meeting or its school workspace remains active, and can be deleted by the host or the school. To request deletion of your data, contact your school administrator or reach us at the address below.

Children

Student access is provisioned and controlled by schools as part of their educational service. Schools remain the data controllers for their students' information; we process it on their behalf.
